It hinges on whether Steve Keane can persuade Samba to rejoin the team. They lost Givet to a 3 match suspension at the weekend and sold another defender in the January Transfer Window. They conceded 7 at the Emirates, but prior to that had been showing signs of fight, but not getting results.
 
I think it will be a hard fought match. It's an inhospitable environment (weather wise). We haven't done well there in recent years in the FA Cup, but I think we'll get a draw. 1-1 with a resurgent Adel to score.

14 games left, but of very serious conquence are those games within the 14 that we would normally consider winnable. I have in mind that the home games against Fulham, Swansea and Stoke would be the only ones in this category. Then away draws, well then I'm thinking Blackburn, Bolton, WBA (at a push). We could win one of those 3 but we could lose 1 or all of them too. That's really how I see us making the 33 mark. The other 8 games are against Everton, Liverpool, Sunderland, Arsenal, Man Utd, Spurs, Chelsea & Man City. I just don't see us getting a whole lot out of those games. Maybe force a win v Everton, maybe a top team will come to LR and have a nightmare, have 2 players sent off...lightning can strike twice! but not often. This can be done. The other teams at the bottom have to play all the top teams too so we're not alone. We have an edge with decent goalscorers in the team, this is still within our grasp. But one more slip-up in the list above, well that maybe game, set and match.

Well, Wolves long awaited win was secured at Loftus Road on Saturday. Cisse's self inflicted red card will see him miss the relatively easy matches at Blackburn (A), Fulham (H) and Everton (H). He will be missed, especially if we have to give Rob Hulse a start in those matches as a consequence.
 
A win would have seen us 5 points clear of the relegation zone, however, we woke up yesterday morning only 1 point clear of the drop zone. We badly need a confidence boosting run of wins before our challenging last 10 fixtures.

Table after Wolves match
 
Another 6 pointer against one of our peers at the bottom of the table. This time, one second of indiscipline led to a self inflicted sending off, which had the knock on effect of seeing a 1 goal lead turn into an eventual 2-1 home defeat. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Well it happened a few weeks ago against Norwich too. Instead of being 5 points clear of the relegation zone, we are now only 1 point away from it.   
   
Jerry was the only person to earn anything from the debris, as Zamora scored.

Another game QPR fans will look at as a win. We should as they are awful, as awful as Wolves. The Wolves defeat surpasses what up to this I thought was the worst defeat of the season, at home to Norwich. At least Norwich tried to play football.
No doubt we will score first through Zamora and the proceed to hand the initiave to Blackburn who will score 3 goals as they haven't won in so long, and QPR are so obliging.

What an important point that was the other night, yet, it was a point that was necessary to put in the bag towards safety. But more important is that it continues to change the team around to one that is confident and upbeat about doing what is necessary this season.

Wolves are on a disastrous run this season, in fact, when you strip out that they won the first 2 games of the season, they have managed to get only 12 points from the last 21 games. That is the equivalent of our very poor run before Christmas for practically the entire season.

We are on something of a relative high, we've won a home game, got a point at Villa and even buried that old FA Cup hoodoo. New boss in and new players, especially and psychologically new goalscorers. That all said, this is one of those must win games that are already on the list to win, to get to the magic 33. We will still need a bonus win from somewhere, a game that we wouldn't be expected to win. The job is still to be done. But tomorow, the Superhoops to win convincingly 3-0, Cisse to score.

It is a good time to play them. Confidence must surely be low in the Midlands at the moment as they really don't have a clue where their next win is going to come from. This is a must win match for us, as was Wigan last week. I would like to see us playing more cohesive football, but at the end of the day it's all about getting results.
