About Us!
Who We Are?
iQPR was founded in August 2003 at a meeting in the town
of Athlone in the middle of Ireland. The purpose of the
meeting was to get Irish supporters of Queens Park Rangers
Football Club together. Earlier attempts had been made to
form a similar organisation, but as people failed to
commit it consequently failed.
This time, we have made efforts to involve people from all
32 counties and we have an executive committee, which is
responsible for ensuring that the organisation is active.
In addition to the steering group, we have elected
representatives for Connaught, Ulster, Munster and Leinster.
The Representatives are as elected:
Administrator/ Treasurer: Tom Stuart, Dublin
Website: Jan Pettersen, Dublin
Regional Contact Ulster: Stephen Cross, Belfast
Regional Contact Connaught: Brendan Costello, Claremorris, Co. Mayo
Regional Contact Leinster: Garry Coady, Carlow
Regional Contact Munster: Seamus Gallagher, Carrigaline, Co.Cork
What We Do?
The purpose of our organisation, as decided by the founding meeting, is as follows:
§
3. Purpose and mission
a)
We will endeavour to promote support and membership of Queens Park
Rangers Football Club.
b)
We will do our best to facilitate travel, group or
individual from Ireland to
QPR football matches wherever they are being played.
c)
We will do our best to provide a “comfort zone” for people who’s never
travelled to see QPR before and help
QPR fans to get the real “QPR Experience”.
d)
We will work to bring QPR fans together.
§ 4. Inclusion
We are QPR supporters first and last.
iQPR is totally inclusive and we do not intend to involve ourselves with any QPR political issues. However, members
are free to have their individual opinions as long as,
they do not intentionally try to submit these views as
representative of iQPR.
§
5. Membership Fees
Annual membership fees are set to €15 and £10 stg.
Fee is to be paid to treasurer Tom Stuart and is to be
used to cover expenses in relation to dissemination of
information relating to iQPR activities, i.e. letters and
website.
Accounts will be presented at the AGM every season.
§
6. Marketing
We will market our activities with ads in newspapers like
Sunday Life (Ulster) and Evening Herald (Dublin). We will
also develop a website were information will be posted on
a regular basis.
We have elected regional contacts for Dublin, Ulster,
Connaught, Munster and Leinster.
We will respond to enquiries from potential new members by
issuing a standard letter that will give a summary of our
activities as well as contact details.
§
7. Activities
a) We will organise a minimum of 2 group trips to England per season.
We will do our best to organise a large group for any of these matches.
However, trips will be organised as long as there are
people willing to travel.
b) We will hold an AGM every season.
c) We will call local gatherings for televised matches involving QPR.
